Spirit Airlines ceased LAS operations
The airport states Spirit Airlines ceased operations effective 12:00 a.m. May 2, 2026. If an old itinerary, search result or travel page still suggests a current Spirit departure from LAS, contact the booking provider and verify alternatives before traveling to the airport.
New official parking rates are in effect
Current daily maximums are $20 long term, $38 short term and $14 economy/remote; valet is $34. Reservation pricing differs and availability is limited.
Terminal 1 walking paths are being upgraded
LAS is modernizing Terminal 1 baggage handling and adding escalators linking baggage claim, the Level 2 pedestrian bridge and passenger pickup. Construction can alter walking routes, so follow current signs rather than an old map screenshot.

LAS terminal map: Terminal 1, Terminal 3 and D gates
LAS has two physically separate terminal buildings. Walking between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 is not possible landside. D gates sit in a satellite concourse that can be reached by automated airport tram from either terminal after security.
Terminal 1
Ticketing, check-in and baggage claim for airlines assigned to Terminal 1. A, B and C gates connect to the building; the D satellite is reached by tram. Terminal 1 also has its own parking garage and ground-transport locations.
Terminal 3
Home to all international airlines plus selected domestic carriers. Terminal 3 contains ticketing/check-in, baggage claim and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. E gates connect with the terminal; D gates are reached by the Red Line airport tram.
How to check LAS departures, arrivals and flight status
Searches for “Las Vegas airport code departures” usually need more than the code itself. Use the official departures page or the operating airline for the current departure time, terminal, gate and status. A codeshare may display one airline brand while another airline actually operates the flight.
Before leaving
Check flight number, operating airline, terminal, scheduled time, delay status and baggage-drop deadline.
At LAS
Recheck the flight information displays after security. Gate assignments can change while the flight remains in the same terminal system.
During disruption
Use the operating airline for rebooking, standby, hotel/meal eligibility and checked-baggage decisions. Airport customer service cannot rewrite an airline ticket.
How to transfer between Terminal 1, Terminal 3 and D gates
Free inter-terminal shuttle — landside
Courtesy buses run approximately every 20–30 minutes; the ride itself is about 10 minutes. From Terminal 1, go down to Level Zero and cross toward the covered garage. At Terminal 3, use the Level Zero curb in the center/west ground-transport area.
Blue Line airport tram — secure side
From Terminal 1, clear the appropriate security checkpoint and use the Blue Line to reach D gates. D is a satellite concourse, not a walk-up extension of the terminal.
Red Line airport tram — Terminal 3 to D gates
From Terminal 3 after security, go to the tram station and take the Red Line to D gates. Travelers continuing toward Terminal 1 can connect onward through the D-gates tram system.
LAS security checkpoint hours and estimated wait times
LAS has five TSA checkpoints: three in Terminal 1 and two in Terminal 3. The dedicated security page currently publishes the following hours. Operational changes can occur, so confirm same-day access before relying on an early or late checkpoint.

International arrivals, Terminal 3 and U.S. customs
Terminal 3 is the principal international-processing terminal at LAS and contains U.S. Customs and Border Protection facilities. The airport also uses a 995-foot underground connection from the D Concourse toward the Terminal 3 CBP port of entry for international-arrival processing.
Follow signs to CBP
Passengers who did not complete U.S. preclearance before departure should follow the controlled international-arrival route to passport/entry inspection.
Collect checked baggage when instructed
Follow CBP and airline instructions even when the baggage tag shows an onward U.S. destination.
Complete customs and recheck
Connecting passengers may need to recheck bags and pass TSA screening before the domestic onward flight.

Very short pickup
Current airport travel tips state the first 15 minutes of short-term parking can be free for quick pickup when using the intended exit process.

Long stays
Terminal parking generally has a 30-day maximum unless arrangements are made. Confirm before leaving a vehicle for an extended trip.
How LAS reservation parking actually works
Prebooking is useful during high-demand weekends, but the reservation has its own entry and refund rules. Treat the QR code in the confirmation email like the parking credential.
- Use the designated online-booking entry gate and scan the reservation QR code from your phone, paper confirmation or supported wallet pass.
- Do not press for a physical parking ticket. LAS terms say doing so makes the garage charge the ticket rate instead of the booking, and the booking is treated as a last-minute cancellation with no refund.
- Confirm you are entering the exact facility named on the reservation.
- Changes or cancellations must be completed at least 2 hours before the booked start time to qualify under the published refund rules.
- Staying past the reserved exit time can create an additional charge payable at exit.
- Leaving early does not create a refund for the unused portion of a prepaid reservation.
- The booking guarantees a parking space in the booked facility but LAS does not guarantee a specific stall; you still find an open stall after entry.
- The quoted online purchase price includes a $1 convenience fee under the current booking terms.
Passenger pickup, Cell Phone Lot, Uber and Lyft
Terminal 1 rideshare pickup
Uber and Lyft pickup is on Level 2 of the parking garage. From baggage claim, take the elevator near Door 2 to Level 2, cross the pedestrian bridge and follow signs to the pickup area on the right.
Terminal 3 rideshare pickup
Pickup is on the Valet Level of the parking garage. From baggage claim, use elevators near Doors 52, 54 or 56, cross the bridge and go down to Valet Level.
Free Cell Phone Lot
The airport’s Cell Phone Lot is on Kitty Hawk Way and is currently listed as open daily from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. Wait there until the passenger has collected baggage and sends the terminal/pickup-column information. Curbside waiting is not allowed.
Taxi pickup
Terminal 1 taxis are outside baggage claim on the east side near Doors 1–4. Terminal 3 taxis are on Level Zero near Door 52. The airport states that all taxi companies accept credit cards.
RTC buses, taxi, rideshare and the Las Vegas Monorail question
RTC public bus
At Terminal 1, the covered RTC stop is on Level Zero. Routes 108, 109 and Centennial Express (CX) serve Terminal 1. At Terminal 3, the bus stop is on Level 2 across from Door 44, and CX also serves T3.
Vegas Loop now serves LAS
Vegas Loop is an additional airport transportation option. Official LAS guidance lists drop-off at the Departures curbs for Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, and pickup on Level Zero at both terminals. Check current tickets, service area and operating details before relying on it for a timed departure.
Does the Las Vegas Monorail go to the airport?
No. The official airport transportation guide explicitly says the Las Vegas Monorail does not serve LAS. Do not confuse the city Monorail with the automated trams that move passengers inside the airport.
How close is LAS to the Strip?
The airport’s 2026 fast-facts page describes the LAS campus as roughly two miles from the Las Vegas Strip. Road travel time varies dramatically with hotel location, event traffic, construction and pickup mode.
LAS road access and Terminal 1 construction: add a real buffer
Road construction and terminal modernization can affect the last part of the airport trip even when Google Maps shows normal highway travel. LAS has ongoing Terminal 1 baggage-handling work and an escalator project connecting baggage claim, the Level 2 pedestrian bridge and passenger-pickup garage; completion of the escalator work is anticipated in early 2027.
Airport Connector approach
Lane restrictions and event traffic can change airport approach times. Check a live navigation app immediately before departure rather than saving a route hours earlier.
Follow temporary Terminal 1 signs
Construction can alter the easiest route between baggage claim, pedestrian bridges and passenger pickup. On-site signage should override an old screenshot or memorized path.
Do not spend your security buffer in traffic
The 2-hour domestic / 3-hour international recommendation refers to being at the airport with time for check-in and security—not merely entering the airport roadway at that time.
LAS Rent-A-Car Center: shuttle stops, address and official video
The Harry Reid Rent-A-Car Center is at 7135 Gilespie Street, Las Vegas, NV 89119, about three miles south of the airport. Do not walk there from the passenger terminals; use the airport’s courtesy rental-car shuttles.
Terminal 1 shuttle
From baggage claim, follow Ground Transportation on Level 1 and use the Rental Car Shuttle stop outside Doors 10 and 11.
Terminal 3 shuttle
Follow Ground Transportation from baggage claim to Level Zero. Rental-car shuttle stops are at both ends of the terminal.

LAS launched the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program in 2026. There are no eligibility requirements.
