How Nashville International Airport is organized in 2026
BNA currently operates as one passenger terminal. Travelers check in on the North or South ticketing side, use the airport’s security checkpoint, and proceed to active passenger areas including Concourses B, C and D, the T-Gates, or the Satellite Concourse. The former Concourse A closed in September 2025 and is being completely rebuilt.
Concourse B
Used by carriers including Delta and United operations. Delta Sky Club is near B3; children’s play space is near B10.
Concourse C
Major Southwest and American activity, dining and live-music areas. Satellite shuttle station is adjacent to C13.
Concourse D
Expanded in 2025 to 11 gates, with moving walkway, new concessions, artwork and BNA’s first passenger outdoor terrace.
Satellite C4–C11
Remote passenger concourse reached by a short electric shuttle from the main terminal near Gate C13.
Satellite Concourse: the connection detail many travelers miss
Gates C4 through C11 are in the Satellite Concourse. Go to the electric-shuttle station adjacent to Gate C13 in the main terminal.
The published shuttle trip is about 3 minutes, and shuttles are scheduled to run approximately every 3 minutes. Still leave a buffer for walking, boarding and crowding.
North or South ticketing: where BNA airlines currently check in
BNA’s ticketing lobby is split into North and South check-in areas. The most useful planning detail is not only the side—it is when the airline counter is scheduled to open. A 3:30 a.m. TSA opening does not mean every airline counter is open at 3:30.

BNA construction: exactly what changes your passenger route now
The airport remains one terminal and the Grand Lobby remains open, but the main central elevator/escalator circulation between Ground Transportation, Baggage Claim and Ticketing is being rebuilt. Use temporary signs rather than an old terminal routine.
Central Core is closed for reconstruction
The core is the primary vertical-circulation zone linking Level 1 Ground Transportation, Level 2 Baggage Claim and Level 3 Ticketing. Other pre-security elevators and escalators remain in service, and BNA says accessible routes remain available.
Garage arrivals enter the terminal from Level 1
If you park in a Terminal Garage, follow signs to the Level 1 airport entrance instead of expecting the former pedestrian-bridge route. From there, follow temporary wayfinding to the level you need.
Private-car drop-off and pickup still use the curb
Private passenger drop-off remains on Level 3 and pickup on Level 2. App-based rideshare is different: pickup and drop-off remain at the Ground Transportation Center on Level 1 of Terminal Garage 2.
Structural demolition can be loud overnight
Structural demolition began the week of July 13. BNA schedules the loudest work for approximately 8 p.m.–4 a.m., Sunday nights through Friday mornings, with demolition planned through December 2026. This matters most to overnight, sensory-sensitive and long-layover travelers.
Terminal Lot A is closed
Lot A is inside the footprint of the future rental-car/parking facility. Valet, Terminal Garages 1 and 2 and Economy Lots B and C remain the main official parking options.
New Concourse A is planned with 16 gates
The replacement is planned at about 374,000 square feet with two 120-foot moving walkways, roughly 28,000 square feet of concessions, two baggage-claim devices, 24 ticket counters, a mother’s room, service-animal relief area, outdoor terrace and lounge mezzanine.
New rental-car/parking facility and larger ring road
The six-story facility is designed for 4,700 rental vehicles and 3,000 passenger parking spaces. BNA also plans to expand the airport ring road from a one-mile, two-lane road into a two-mile, six-lane loop.
BNA security, REAL ID, ConfirmID and how early to arrive
BNA publishes a 3:30 a.m. daily opening for its passenger security checkpoint and recommends arriving about two hours before domestic departures and three hours before international departures. Your airline’s check-in or bag-drop deadline can be earlier than you expect, so the airline cutoff—not the TSA opening—is the hard deadline to protect.
REAL ID or another TSA-accepted ID
REAL ID enforcement began May 7, 2025. A passport and other TSA-listed documents can also qualify. Check the TSA list before travel rather than assuming a noncompliant state card will work.
TSA ConfirmID in 2026
For travelers without acceptable ID, TSA’s optional ConfirmID process is currently $45. BNA warns that identity verification can add time; typical processing may take roughly 10–15 minutes and can take 30+ minutes. Verification is not guaranteed.

Parking is cashless
Since July 1, 2026, parking is cashless. Cash-to-card machines are on Level 3 North Ticketing across from JetBlue, Level 3 South Ticketing across from Allegiant, and Level 2 between baggage claims 8 and 9. Cash tips remain allowed.
EV charging + vehicle help
EV charging: Garage 1 P2–P6 and Garage 2 P2–P3; vehicles must actively charge. Garages also list tire-inflation stations. Parking questions: 615-275-1045.
Oversize + motorcycles
Oversized vehicles use Economy B/C under special pricing. Motorcycle parking is in the northeast corner of every Terminal Garage level.
How long after landing before a passenger reaches pickup?
BNA publishes these approximate planning times from landing to airport exit: about 15 minutes without checked bags, 30 minutes with checked bags and 30 minutes for an international arrival. Restrooms, baggage delivery, customs and terminal congestion can make the real time longer.
Where to pick up, wait and request Uber or Lyft at BNA
Private car: Level 2 pickup
- Track the operating airline’s live arrival.
- Wait in the free Cell Phone Lot until the traveler is ready.
- Ask the passenger for the exact pickup door/zone.
- Proceed to Level 2 Arrivals only for active loading.
- Do not circle Terminal Drive or wait at the curb.
Uber / Lyft: GTC, not the terminal curb
- Rideshare pickup and drop-off are at the Ground Transportation Center.
- The GTC is Level 1 of Terminal Garage 2.
- The walk to the Grand Lobby is less than five minutes and ADA-compliant.
- Wait until you reach the correct zone before requesting the car.
- Verify driver name, vehicle and plate in the app.
Cell Phone Lot: 1415 Murfreesboro Pike
The free waiting lot is about three miles from the terminal and includes secure fencing, security monitoring and real-time arrival information. BNA specifically recommends it instead of circling the one-mile Terminal Drive loop.
WeGo Route 18, rideshare, taxis, rental cars and terminal hotel access
WeGo Route 18 — lowest-cost direct downtown option
Route 18 connects BNA with the Elizabeth Duff Transit Center at WeGo Central. Board at the Ground Transportation Center, Level 1 of Terminal Garage 2. Adult fare is $2 each way; youth 19 and younger, seniors 65+ and eligible riders with disabilities are listed at $1. Luggage is allowed.
Route 18 frequency improved July 5, 2026
Summer 2026 service changes increased airport service to about every 30 minutes from 6 a.m.–6 p.m., seven days a week, and roughly every 40 minutes in the evening. Always load the schedule for your actual date before walking to the stop.
How to pay
Use QuickTicket, contactless debit/credit, a mobile wallet or exact cash. WeGo currently says American Express is not accepted. A QuickTicket/contactless fare functions as a two-hour pass.
The current Route 18 page displays a downtown detour and says the 6th Ave & Deaderick St southbound stop is not being served due to construction. Buses may also use different downtown bays depending on direction and time. Open the live Route 18 page immediately before travel.
Downtown boarding: confirm the bay, not just “WeGo Central”
A July 2026 bay-change notice moved Route 18 to Bay 14 on the lower level of the Elizabeth Duff Transit Center. Current schedules can show other central stops by trip pattern, so use the dated schedule/Transit app rather than relying only on a saved screenshot.
Taxi, hotel shuttle, limousine and commercial pickup
The Ground Transportation Center consolidates multiple commercial services. Follow the airport’s numbered/marked zones and your provider’s exact instructions; do not accept unsolicited transportation offers.
Rental cars
Follow current rental-car wayfinding from the terminal. A major new six-story rental-car and parking facility is under construction, so older diagrams around Lot A can be obsolete.
Hilton BNA Nashville Airport Terminal
The on-airport Hilton is attached to the terminal complex and can be useful for very early departures, late arrivals or disruptions. Check the hotel’s current pedestrian instructions before booking specifically for walkability.
International arrivals, customs and connecting at BNA
BNA has international-arrival capability and six gates designed to accommodate international arrivals. For a flight arriving from outside the United States without U.S. preclearance, follow CBP signage and the instructions provided by your airline and officers.

BNA PASSport: meet someone at a gate without an airline ticket
BNA PASSport is a free guest-pass program for approved non-ticketed visitors who want to dine, shop, plane-watch, accompany someone or meet an eligible domestic arriving traveler beyond security.
