Haneda Airport terminals: T1, T2 and T3
The most important terminal mistake is assuming that “international = Terminal 3.” Haneda’s international flights use both Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Check the operating airline and flight number before traveling to the airport.

Free Keikyu / Tokyo Monorail transfer ticket
Eligible domestic↔international and international↔international connecting passengers can receive a free transfer ticket between T3 and T1/T2. Passport and connecting-flight documentation are checked. Distribution: T1 B1F, T2 B1F and T3 2F information counters.
Walking between T1 and T2
The roughly 400-meter underground passage remains usable, but the moving walkway is currently out of service during construction. Travelers with reduced walking tolerance should use the free shuttle or arrange assistance.
Domestic and international connections at HND
International arrival → JAL domestic in T1
- Complete Japan arrival procedures and collect baggage when required.
- Use the T3 2F JAL domestic-transfer check-in counter when eligible and open.
- Complete the domestic transfer security process before its closing window.

Haneda check-in, security and Face Express
For planning, target roughly 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international flight, then follow any earlier airline requirement. Check-in and bag-drop cutoffs matter even when security looks quiet.
Domestic departure
Domestic departures use 2F in T1 and T2. Check in, deposit baggage when required, clear security and recheck the gate after entering the restricted area.
International departure
International departures use the 3F departure floors in T2 and T3. Confirm the flight terminal first; “international” does not automatically mean T3.
Face Express
Selected airlines/flights support facial recognition through some check-in, bag-drop, security and boarding steps. Eligibility is not universal; keep your passport and boarding pass accessible even when enrolled.

Arriving in Japan at HND: immigration, baggage, customs and Visit Japan Web
1. Follow quarantine / health instructions when applicable
If you are ill or directed to a health procedure, follow the quarantine station before continuing.
2. Complete immigration
Use the process applicable to your nationality and residence status. Visa/entry eligibility comes from Japanese immigration and foreign-affairs authorities—not an airport guide.
3. Collect checked baggage
Check the carousel and inspect the bag before leaving the baggage area. Connecting passengers should follow the airline’s transfer instructions.
4. Submit the required customs declaration
Japan Customs requires arriving passengers to submit a declaration. Visit Japan Web is the official free electronic-preparation option; paper declarations remain an alternative where accepted.
5. Continue through customs and into the arrival lobby
At Haneda, electronic customs declaration gates are available. After exit, follow the T2 or T3 signs for rail, monorail, bus, taxi, baggage delivery or your meeting point.

Use the Japanese government’s Visit Japan Web service. The older Customs Declaration App code is no longer the current electronic customs route.
Integrated immigration/customs kiosks
Japan Customs lists integrated procedures that can use the Visit Japan Web 2D code and IC passport; foreign nationals may also complete fingerprint/photo steps as instructed.
Electronic customs gate
Haneda is one of the airports with electronic customs declaration gates. Completing a digital declaration does not prevent Customs from inspecting baggage when required.

Staffed temporary baggage storage: exact published limits
Haneda’s staffed service can accept eligible baggage for up to two weeks, with a maximum combined three-side dimension of 300 cm and maximum weight of 30 kg. Shape/type restrictions can still apply.

Coin lockers are landside
Haneda states its coin lockers are outside the gate areas. Do not store a passport, medicine or item you will need after security. Locker time limits and sizes differ from staffed storage.
Hotel / home delivery
Delivery counters operate in the terminals. Some same-day services cover only specific hotel areas and have early cutoffs—for example, a T1 JAL service lists selected Urayasu/Odaiba/Maihama hotels for eligible bags accepted by 1 p.m.

Current airport listings show porter service in Terminal 3 only; T1 and T2 do not list porter service. Advance reservation is required, commonly at least 24 hours depending on provider.

Use the right provider: the operating airline handles aircraft/boarding assistance, while Haneda terminal staff help with airport navigation, wheelchairs and terminal facilities.

T1–T2 construction consideration
The 400 m passage remains open but its moving walkway is out of service. Use the shuttle or request assistance when that walking distance is not practical.
