West Palm Beach airport code: DJT, former PBI code and traveler essentials
West Palm Beach’s main commercial airport now uses DJT as its passenger-facing IATA airport code. The same airport used PBI for decades, so travelers can still encounter the former code in older reservations, saved maps, web addresses and travel documents.
What is the West Palm Beach airport code?
DJT is the current three-letter IATA airport code for the primary commercial airport serving West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County. This is the code travelers should expect to use when searching current airline schedules, buying tickets, confirming checked-bag destinations and checking passenger-facing flight information.
The airport was formerly known as Palm Beach International Airport and used PBI as its IATA code. Because the code transition happened in 2026, older travel guides and reservations may continue to show PBI.
Airport live checks & travel tools
Use current local conditions, official live-status links and planning calculators before you travel. Airline gate, terminal and flight times can change; your carrier remains the final source for flight-specific details.
Live flight center
Check the airport's official flight board, then confirm any last-minute gate or timing change with the airline.
Current airport-area weather
Useful for planning your trip to the airport. This is model-based local weather, not an aviation METAR or an airline operational forecast.
Quick official checks
Open the source that matches the decision you are making right now.
When should I reach the airport?
A planning estimate based on flight type and common time buffers. Always increase the buffer for severe weather, major holidays, unusual airport alerts or airline instructions.
Connection-risk checker
This is a planning heuristic, not an airline minimum-connection-time rule. International arrivals that require U.S. entry processing, baggage claim and security can need substantially more time.
Parking cost estimator
Uses the airport-specific rates stored in this article's configuration. Rates can change; verify availability and final pricing on the official parking page before driving in.
Passenger pickup readiness
Landing time is not curb-ready time. Add time for taxiing, deplaning, baggage claim, customs when applicable and walking to the correct pickup zone.
Why did the West Palm Beach airport code change from PBI to DJT?
The airport’s official name changed to President Donald J. Trump International Airport on July 9, 2026. Palm Beach County continued to own, govern and operate the airport after the name change.
The different aviation identifiers did not all change on the same day. That staged transition explains why PBI and DJT can both appear in documents created around mid-2026.
Official airport name changed
The airport’s new official name took effect. The change did not transfer ownership or operational control away from Palm Beach County.
FAA and ICAO identifiers changed
The FAA location identifier became DJT and the ICAO identifier became KDJT.
IATA changed from PBI to DJT
This is the transition most passengers notice because IATA codes appear in airline booking systems, baggage handling, itineraries and flight searches.
Older PBI references can remain visible
The official airport website continues to use the long-established pbia.org domain, and older signs, bookmarks, articles or documents may still contain PBI.
Where is the West Palm Beach airport?
Airport address
1000 James L. Turnage Blvd.
West Palm Beach, FL 33406
The airport publishes (561) 471-7400 as its main telephone number.
Driving approach
The airport is reached from the West Palm Beach road network near I-95 and Belvedere Road. The airport’s official directions page currently identifies I-95 Exit 69 among the main approaches.
Use live navigation on travel day because traffic, temporary lane work and airport access routing can change.
Terminal levels, concourses and airlines at West Palm Beach
The passenger terminal is organized around Concourses A, B and C. The airport’s official map places baggage claim and ground transportation on Level 1, the passenger gates on Level 2, and airline ticketing/check-in on Level 3.
Level 1
Baggage Claim, ground transportation and rental-car services.
Level 2
Passenger gates, lounges, private nursing suites, airport Lost and Found, putting green, shops, restaurants and the airport art gallery.
Level 3
Airline ticket counters, passenger check-in, curbside baggage check and the designated outer-curb rideshare pickup area.
Airlines currently listed by concourse
| Concourse | Airlines listed by airport | Traveler check |
|---|---|---|
| A | Bahamasair | Verify the current flight and gate with the operating airline. |
| B | Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Avelo Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines | Do not assume a saved gate or old boarding pass remains current. |
| C | Air Canada, Breeze Airways, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Porter Airlines | For codeshares, follow the operating carrier’s check-in and baggage instructions. |
TSA identification, screening and airport arrival planning
TSA controls passenger security screening. Airline check-in and checked-bag deadlines are separate, so a traveler can technically reach the terminal before departure and still be too late for the airline’s own cutoff.
REAL ID and acceptable identification
Since May 7, 2025, travelers using a state driver’s license or state ID for domestic air travel generally need a REAL-ID-compliant document unless they use another TSA-accepted form of identification such as a passport.
Check TSA directly if you are unsure whether your document is accepted.
Arrival time
Use the operating airline’s recommended arrival time rather than a fixed internet rule. Add more time if you are checking baggage, traveling during a busy period, using Economy parking, traveling with children or arranging mobility assistance.
Parking rates, Economy shuttle and reservation rules
The airport currently offers four main parking choices plus a free cell-phone waiting area for people meeting arriving passengers. Daily parking rates are calculated from the time the vehicle enters the lot.
| Parking | Maximum daily rate | Short interval | Useful detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium | $34 | $3 per 20 minutes or portion | Located outside Baggage Claim. |
| Short-Term | $21 | $3 per 20 minutes or portion | Direct terminal access. |
| Long-Term | $14 | $2 per 20 minutes or portion | Direct terminal access on Level 2. |
| Economy | $8 | $2 per 20 minutes or portion | About a five-minute walk; complimentary shuttle also available. |
Economy shuttle schedule
Complimentary shuttle service normally operates seven days a week. The airport currently lists continuous Sunday–Thursday service, but no shuttle from 1–3 a.m. Friday or 1–4 a.m. Saturday.
When the shuttle is not running, parking assistance is available at (561) 471-7459.
Economy shuttle pickup
From the Economy Lot, use a bus stop and press its call button when needed. From the terminal, the airport directs passengers from Level 1 toward the outer-curb shuttle pickup near the domestic baggage-claim area.
Online parking reservation
For a prepaid reservation, use the QR code in the confirmation email when entering and exiting. Do not pull a regular parking ticket when entering with a reserved booking.
Reservation change rules
The airport reservation FAQ says reservations are non-refundable if canceled and changes cannot be made less than 24 hours before the reserved start time. Travelers are also instructed to enter within two hours of the reserved entry time.
Other parking details that can affect your trip
Accessible parking
Accessible spaces are available throughout the parking facilities. Economy accessible spaces are listed near bus stops 6 and 7. Standard fees generally apply unless the vehicle qualifies for a specific Florida parking exemption described by the airport.
Disabled veteran and equipped vehicles
The airport describes free-parking eligibility for qualifying Florida DV-plated vehicles, qualifying vehicles with specialized accessibility equipment, or vehicles displaying the applicable State of Florida Toll Exemption Permit.
Parking longer than 30 days
Vehicles left more than 30 days can be considered abandoned. Contact the Parking office in advance if you expect to remain parked beyond that period.
Oversized vehicles
A vehicle occupying more than one parking space can be charged for each space used. The airport states that commercial vehicles and fifth-wheel trailer parking are not allowed.
SunPass Plus
SunPass Plus can be used in designated parking lanes when the account is set up for airport parking. Follow the marked lane and current SunPass instructions.
Hurricane parking
Standard airport parking rates continue during hurricanes and tropical storms. The airport asks people who are not flying not to use airport garages simply as storm-storage parking.
Cell-phone lot, curb pickup, Uber, Lyft and taxis
Free cell-phone waiting lot
The airport directs people waiting for arriving passengers to the Travel Plaza cell-phone lot at 2050 Belvedere Road.
Wait there until the traveler has landed, collected baggage if necessary and is ready for pickup instead of stopping at an active terminal curb.
Private vehicle curb
Airport guidance prohibits vehicles from stopping unattended at the terminal’s departure and arrival curbs. Use the curb for active loading or unloading and follow the current roadway signs.
Uber and Lyft
App-based rideshare pickups are currently on the outer curb of Level 3. Follow airport signs and verify the vehicle make, model, license plate and driver shown in the app.
Taxi, sedan, SUV and van
On-demand and walk-up service is available from the Ground Transportation desk outside the west end of Level 1. The airport says reservations are not required for arriving passengers using the on-demand service.
Palm Tran, Tri-Rail, Amtrak, rental cars and hotel shuttles
Palm Tran public bus
Palm Beach County’s Palm Tran service has an airport bus stop on the outer curb of Level 1. Route numbers, fares and timetables can change, so open Palm Tran’s current trip planner before relying on a specific connection.
Tri-Rail
The airport is accessible via the West Palm Beach Tri-Rail station at 203 South Tamarind Avenue. Tri-Rail serves the South Florida corridor toward Miami with intermediate stops.
Amtrak
The West Palm Beach Amtrak station is at 201 South Tamarind Avenue. Airport guidance states that a Palm Tran connection is available between the station and the airport.
Rental cars
Rental-car services are located in Baggage Claim on Level 1. If your provider is off airport, check the provider’s own confirmation for its shuttle or pickup procedure rather than assuming it operates from the same counter area.
Hotel courtesy shuttles
If your hotel advertises an airport shuttle, confirm the operating hours, reservation requirement and exact pickup location directly with the hotel. Shuttle schedules are hotel-specific and can change independently of airport operations.
Wheelchairs, TSA Cares, airline assistance and traveling with pets
Wheelchair assistance
Request wheelchair assistance directly from the airline when booking. Before travel, confirm that the request remains attached to the reservation and allow extra airport time for assistance.
Airline disability issues
Airlines have a Complaint Resolution Official or appropriately trained supervisor for disability-related matters. Airline-specific boarding, seating, wheelchair and mobility-device issues should be raised with the airline.
TSA Cares
TSA Cares provides screening guidance for travelers with disabilities, medical conditions and other special circumstances. TSA asks travelers seeking advance assistance to contact the program at least 72 hours before travel.
Pet-relief locations
Post-security
Indoor pet-relief areas are currently listed in Concourse B near Gate B1 and Concourse C near Gate C1.
Outside the terminal
Outdoor pet-relief areas are on the east and west ends of Level 1 Baggage Claim. The airport describes these areas as fenced and shaded and provides waste bags.
Lost items, baggage problems, lounges, nursing rooms and terminal amenities
Airport Lost and Found
The airport terminal map places Lost and Found on Level 2. Use the airport’s Lost and Found process for an item lost in an airport public area rather than assuming the airline has it.
Lost or damaged checked baggage
Checked baggage is an airline issue. The airport directs travelers with lost or damaged luggage to the appropriate Airline Baggage Services office in Baggage Claim, Level 1 and recommends keeping the baggage claim check.
Lounges
The official terminal map currently lists the Escape Lounge – The Centurion Studio Partner and a Delta Sky Club on Level 2. Access rules and hours depend on the lounge, airline or eligible card program.
Private nursing suites
Private nursing suites are listed on Level 2. Check the current terminal map when you arrive for the nearest location to your gate.
Restaurants and shops
Dining and retail are available within the terminal. Individual businesses can have hours that differ from the airport’s flight schedule, so very early and late travelers should not assume every concession is open.
Putting green and airport art
The Level 2 terminal facilities listed by the airport include a putting green and an airport art gallery in addition to passenger services.
International flights, customs and connection planning
The airport serves both domestic and international airlines. On an international arrival that requires U.S. inspection, follow the airline, airport and U.S. Customs and Border Protection instructions provided for that specific flight.
Arriving from abroad
Keep passports and required travel documents accessible until the inspection process is complete. Do not assume the procedure will be identical to a domestic arrival.
Connecting onward
Ask the airline whether checked baggage must be collected or rechecked and whether another TSA screening is required. Procedures can differ according to origin, preclearance status, ticketing and baggage arrangements.
Common West Palm Beach airport problems and what to do
My itinerary still says PBI
Possible reason: it was created before or during the 2026 transition.
What to do: open the booking in the operating airline’s official app or website and confirm the West Palm Beach airport shown there.
The airport website still says pbia.org
Possible reason: the official airport retained its existing web domain during the transition.
What to do: do not use the website domain as evidence that PBI remains the current IATA code.
My parking reservation QR code will not open the gate
What to do: confirm you are at the correct reserved facility and within the allowed entry time, then use the entry-machine intercom for assistance.
The parking lot I wanted is full
What to do: follow current airport signs to another available facility. A parking-rate page does not guarantee drive-up inventory.
I lost something on the aircraft
What to do: contact the airline first. Airport Lost and Found is more appropriate for property lost in airport public areas.
My checked bag did not arrive
What to do: report it to the airline’s baggage service before leaving the airport when possible. Keep the baggage claim receipt and airline case number.
I need a wheelchair but forgot to request one
What to do: contact your operating airline as soon as possible and allow additional time. Airline-provided assistance is separate from TSA screening assistance.
My flight is delayed
What to do: use the operating airline for flight-specific status and rebooking. Airport-wide conditions do not replace the airline’s individual flight information.
West Palm Beach airport travel-day checklist
Confirm DJT or West Palm Beach on the current booking
If an older itinerary still shows PBI, verify it through the operating airline instead of assuming the trip is booked to a different airport.
Check the operating airline
Use the operating carrier for gate, baggage, check-in cutoff, cancellation and rebooking information.
Verify your ID and TSA requirements
Check your identification and review TSA restrictions before packing an item you are unsure about.
Check parking availability or ground transportation
If parking, choose a backup facility in case your preferred drive-up lot reaches capacity. If using transit, load the schedule for the actual travel date.
Allow extra time for checked bags or assistance
Parking transfers, baggage check, children, mobility assistance and peak security periods can all increase the time required before reaching the gate.
Save the terminal map
Know whether you need baggage claim, ticketing, a specific concourse, rideshare pickup or the ground transportation level before arriving.
