The airport promotes its post-security YYC LINK shuttle for moving between concourses A through D. Use it when airport signs direct you to LINK; do not assume it provides access to every U.S. preclearance movement in Concourse E.
How to check a YYC flight without using stale schedules
YYC’s official flight table automatically updates and displays times in Calgary local time. Search by flight number, airline or city. For a departure, verify scheduled time, revised time, status and gate. For an arrival, also verify the baggage-claim information before driving to the curb.
YYC security: ABC, D and E checkpoints
YYC recommends arriving at least 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international flight. Check-in and bag-drop deadlines come from your airline and are separate from CATSA security waits.

What changed for domestic travellers?
Phase One of centralized screening opened in December 2025 with seven lanes. CATSA CT X-ray technology lets passengers keep permitted liquids/aerosols/gels of 100 mL or less, medical devices and large electronics in their carry-on during screening. The project is designed to expand to nine lanes in 2027.

Arriving into Canada
- Follow Baggage/Exit if Calgary is your final destination, or Connections when connecting.

Flying to the United States
YYC has U.S. CBP preclearance, so U.S. border inspection happens in Calgary before boarding. Current airport policy allows entry to the U.S. security/customs area no more than two hours before scheduled departure.
Arrive earlier when your airline requires earlier check-in or bag drop; you may then wait pre-security until the two-hour access window opens.

YYC’s security page still lists designated CATSA Verified Traveller queues at centralized domestic screening and at D/E screening. A temporary U.S. preclearance NEXUS/Global Entry closure should not be assumed to describe every CATSA security benefit; follow the live checkpoint signs and staff instructions.

Public transit, taxi, rideshare and downtown options
YYC does not have a dedicated LRT station. Calgary Transit buses connect the terminal to downtown and to the CTrain network.

- Domestic: exit Door 2 and cross toward Pillar 7.
- International: exit Door 15 and cross toward Pillar 32.
- Ticket machines at the stops accept debit, credit and cash; advance tickets are also sold at the Arrivals 7-Eleven near Door 11.

YYC to Banff, Canmore and the Rockies: what to arrange before landing
Calgary is the main air gateway for many Banff and Rocky Mountain trips, but there is no passenger rail line from the YYC terminal to Banff. Travellers normally use a pre-booked regional coach, private transfer or rental car.

Calgary Airport Improvement Fee: do you pay it at the airport?
No separate airport-counter payment is normally required. YYC states that the Airport Improvement Fee (AIF) is included with other charges when the airline ticket is purchased. Current YYC material lists a $40 AIF plus applicable tax for most departing passengers, with defined exemptions for some connecting travellers and infants without a purchased seat.

YYC currently offers Bag Storage & Coat Check in the International Terminal on the Departures level between Doors 14 and 15, across from the escalators. Published hours are 7:00 a.m.–12:00 a.m.

The airport says there is no fee to submit a Lost & Found report; third-party sites demanding a non-refundable filing fee may be scams. Shipping a recovered item can still have a cost.
Where to report a checked-bag problem after arrival
A missing or damaged checked bag is an airline claim. File it before leaving baggage claim when possible and keep the baggage-tag receipt. YYC says airport Lost & Found items are generally kept no longer than 30 days.
